There’s a story at the top of the rec list right now with the title:
On acquittal: This is for everyone here. No matter who you support.
The first sentence is:
Trump is going to get acquitted tomorrow.
You already know the issue I have with this diary: it’s not the point of the diary itself, that we need to vote for Democrats this year (just in case there are any brain dead people reading, I guess). The issue I have is so obvious that I made a comment in that diary to the same effect that the title of this diary makes when I realized nobody was going to comment on the egregiousness of it.
But then I decided to post this diary because, I gotta say, the thoughtless use of that word in the first sentence of that diary is beyond the pale for me. This Impeachment Trial is a fixed coverup. You can’t be acquitted by a fixed coverup. You can only be stained by it (if you are part of the coverup).
The outcome of this trial will not be an “acquittal.” The word “acquittal” isn’t applicable to an engineered mistrial.
Words matter, folks.
